Fountain, Colorado is a Home Rule Municipality located in El Paso County, Colorado, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city’s population was 25,846. Fountain is located 10 miles south of downtown Colorado Springs and just east of Fort Carson military base. The town has seen some major gentrification and real estate expansion over the past few years as more people are searching for lower-cost housing outside of the downtown Colorado Springs area where real estate prices have soared ever since marijuana legalization took place back in 2012.
The City Of Fountain was founded in 1859 as a railroad shipping center for local ranches and farms. The town was named for Fountain Creek and was incorporated in 1900.

Fountain Creek Regional Park is a popular area in the city where people go to walk their dogs, enjoy hikes, and fish in the ponds. You can also ride mountain bikes through the trails as they go back for several miles alongside Fountain Creek.
Mesa Ridge High School is a popular location in the city as well and that’s where all of the local youth play sports such as soccer, baseball, football, and cheerleading. Mesa Ridge High School is located on Mesa Ridge Parkway and is very easy to get to from Fountain Creek Regional Park. Just head east as you are leaving the park and you will see the high school directly on the left-hand side of the road.
